LIQUID COATING DESIGNS – ARCHITECTURAL COATINGS & CONCRETE RESURFACING
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. What areas can be resurfaced?
Liquid Coating Designs will turn your ordinary concrete surface into extraordinary hardscape by resurfacing your driveway, walkway, patio, pool deck, porch, fireplace, verticals and more with the look of natural stone without the hassle and expensive of tearing out the existing concrete.
2. Do I have to remove my existing concrete?
No tear out is needed. Liquid Coating Designs will repair your existing concrete surface and resurface it with an architectural coating overlay called LiquidStone. Once applied, our skilled craftsman hand carve, hand texture and hand color the LiquidStone to create the custom natural stone design you desire.
3. Is my concrete too damaged for resurfacing?
In most cases, cracked, pitted and even heaved concrete areas can be repaired by Liquid Coating Designs before the LiquidStone is applied. In some cases, sections of concrete are removed and new concrete is re-poured before resurfacing. In rare cases in which the concrete area is structurally unsound, the concrete (or sections thereof) needs to be removed and re-poured before resurfacing.
4. Do you offer a warranty?
Yes. All Liquid Coating Design installations are guaranteed for 3 years against delaminating, peeling of the LiquidStone product from the concrete surface. Delaminating generally occurs within the 28 days of the installation and is a result of the polymers in the resurfacing product failing to activate with the bonding agents. While delaminating can occur in architectural resurfacing, we are proud to say that our proprietary solution, LiquidStone has less than 1/10 of 1 percent failure rate on one million square feet installed.
5. How long does the process take?
The installation process varies with each project but 1,000 square feet of installation typically takes 9-10 days from prep to completion.
6. What are my options for the design?
Your options for design are limitless. Liquid Coating Designs boasts the most experienced craftsman in the market and can create any natural stone design you can envision.
7. Will the resurfaced concrete hold up to heavy traffic (like vehicles on a driveway?)
Yes. In addition to commercial applications such as automotive dealer service entrances and driveways, about 40% of LiquidStone residential coatings are applied on driveways.
8. Will the resurfaced concrete stain?
LiquidStone applications are protected by commercial-grade stain resistant and UV protective sealers.
9. What is the maintenance for resurfaced concrete?
The protective sealant breaks down over time and should be reapplied every 2 to 3 years. Color touch up is recommended every 5 to 6 years and is available at a nominal fee (30 cents per square foot in today’s dollars).
10. Does the product have interior applications?
Yes, LiquidStone can resurface most fireplaces.
